Passionfruit

A stylish combination of Ingrid James and some of Brisbane most accomplished musicians, Passionfruit always delight their audience. With a selection of your favourite jazz standards, quirky jazz treats from bygone eras and some of the more recent classics, Passionfruit always serve up their music with style and musicianship making even the well worn standards sound fresh and vibrant. The instrumentation changes to suit the occasion but for the smaller line-ups, Ingrid is usually joined by guitar and bass. A drummer, pianist and brass instruments are added to the larger line-ups.

Passionfruit performs regularly in Brisbane at venues such as The Brisbane Sheraton, Brisbane Jazz Club, The Press Club, Stones Corner Hotel, Perks Cafe, Canungra Valley Vineyard, The Full Moon Cafe, Conrad Treasury Live Wire Bar and many private function and corporate events. About Ingrid James Ingrid’s journey has seen more than just the predictable stops along the way. She spent ten years of working in television production and as a director for ABC Television, where she was involved in many music projects such as directing music clips and co-producing original music scores with local musicians for award-winning docu/dramas. In 2002, she completed post graduate studies in Vocal Pedagogy (Jazz Voice) at Griffith University’s Queensland Conservatorium of Music, where she received an Academic Award for Excellence. She has released several award winning CD’s and is often featured in jazz festivals throughout Australia and the world. Based in Brisbane, Australia, she now teaches and performs full-time locally, nationally and internationally.
