His legacy of work as a performer, speaker or MC in the corporate market, is second to none, and Steve is immensely proud of the long term relationships he has established with the most discerning clients.
Now more than ever, your event demands an artist with the talent and experience to exceed your goals and expectations. Put simply, Steve creates “magic”, engaging his audience with a clever and funny approach. He’s a creative professional who knows what’s needed to get the job done properly. Steve says “I love my work and the personal interaction I enjoy with my customers is an enormous privilege. Fanning your event into blazing life and ensuring that the memories remain long after the gig has been completed is what I do. Remember laughter is the greatest gift you can give to someone who is important to you, however with the large and diverse range of guests one will encounter at your run of the mill event, a seasoned practitioner is always your best bet.”
Some of Australia’s biggest players including, Xerox, Harvey World Travel, Australian Stock Exchange, McDonalds, Fosters, Visy Industries, Carbine Club and Volvo have had the pleasure of Steve’s company.
His background provides a pointer to the range of skills he's assembled. Born in Toowoomba, he graduated from the University of Queensland with a degree in Journalism and Australian History and then worked with the Royal Queensland Theatre Company as an actor for two years, starring in major productions. In 1985, he began "moonlighting" as a comedian.
After a series of spectacular appearances on the ten network's hugely popular variety show "Starsearch", where he cloned an uncanny Ian "Molly" Meldrum routine, Steve found himself embracing national stardom. A swag of appearances followed, on Nine's "Hey Hey it's Saturday" and Seven's "Celebrity Family Feud". Utilising his abilities as a comic performer, Steve became one of the country's most sought after corporate acts, engaged by the most demanding blue chip entities.
From 1988 Steve spent a number of years in radio, winning the Federation of Australian radio broadcaster's "raward" for the best new talent in Australian metropolitan radio. He was a comedy writer and performer with FM104, which boasted the biggest per capita listener share in the history of Australian radio, then part of the Triple M network.
In 1990 came another shift. He wrote and published "The History of the NSW Rugby League Finals", the first ever history of the Sydney league competition. It was a runaway best seller. Two editions were published, with over 17,000 books sold. A third edition “100 Years of Rugby league Finals” will be released in 2008 to celebrate the game’s centenary in Australia. In 1992 he linked with the Nine Network, hosting the morning info-tainment show "In Brisbane Today" with sidekick Fiona McDonald. In 1993 he began fronting the sports bulletin on the Brisbane edition of National Nine News.
Steve's strengths are simple. He's personable and professional. He's funny. He shows up and gets the job done. He knows the business and is dedicated to creating long-term relationships with his clients. His attention to detail and his commitment has enabled him to travel to Europe, the United States and all major cities of Asia. There is not a major corporation that at one time or another hasn't engaged the services of this impressive performer. If it has to work, Steve Haddan is the first choice.
