Onstage shines as the best in the biz

by | Sep 19, 2019 | Article

There’s so much more than being good on stage. We do get frustrated when we see so many entertainment operators spruiking their ‘professional’ services when we know they’re not checking the basics, and in some cases even lying about it. Aside from the fact we actually do what we say we will, Onstage also provides a million years’ experience with making sure your speakers and entertainers don’t just look good. Not all performers are made equal, if they’re cheap – there’s a reason. It’s like anything…. And even if they’re awesome, it’s not enough for us to book them for you unless they comply with many other off-stage requirements. Another important point is that the space you are holding your event may not accommodate all performers. And that’s one of the reasons Onstage shines as the best in the biz.

When we consider recommendations for you, we’re not just looking at who can do the performance, we consider a whole range of logistical and compliancy policies….. Here are just some considerations put into each and every bespoke proposition. Every quote you get from us it tailor made for your event:-

  • The ceiling – Is it high enough to use stilt walkers, accommodation aerialists, or event allow for bump in and out of apparatus? Are their rigging points compliant with requirements?
  • Power points – where can we place your entertainment and is the power sufficient and safe to run their equipment.
  • Access – where can the performers load in and will they have allocated time for loading in and rehearsals? Are there stairs, lifts, how wide are the doors?
  • Pillars – can everyone see the stage, if not, we recommend acts to suit.
  • Backstage – do you have a dressing facilities that comply with rider requirements or facilitate costuming and make-up in private.
  • Hard surfaces – Tiles, glass windows , no curtains or carpets? Will the sound bounce around the room and be poor quality? If so, we’ll let you know so your guests tone deaf by the end of the night.
  • Entrances – how will the traffic flow? Where will guests enter from, where are the toilets, where is the kitchen. How can we position the entertainment so it has the most impact but doesn’t obstruct traffic .
  • Venue specific requirements – All venues have their own requirements and they’re getting more and more difficult to navigate. We work everywhere, so there isn’t much we can’t handle . No surprises on the day!
  • Neighbours – are there noise restrictions? Is there another event next door? Will the sound annoy anyone?
